FAQs
1) For a fully filled bottle, the air column inside of the bottle is very small. When the stopper is inserted, the air pressure inside the bottle will increase and the stopper will pop out easily. A cork with hole inside reduces pressure inside the bottle and making cork less likely to pop out.
2) The elasticity of a cork with hole inside is better than that of the solid cork, and it has a high tolerance for the inner diameter of the bottle neck with large errors.
1) Glass shrinkage: it is very different that the size and shape of the bottle that from mass production with the size and shape of the bottle drawing. This is caused by the cooling shrinkage of glass or ceramic. Sometimes the inner bottleneck will become funnel-shaped, flared, waist drum, wasp waist, and so on.
2) We will choose a suitable diameter and length of the cork stopper to fit your bottleneck according to the actual diameter and shape of the bottleneck.
3) If you only show us a bottle size drawing, we can’t choose a suitable cork to fit your actual bottleneck.
4) For the same bottleneck, the diameter of cork is different from different cork manufacturers, because the cork is different hardness.
5) If you show us a stopper size and color, which is just for us to refer pattern and color, we must look at the actual the size and shape of the bottleneck and original cork stopper if you have it in your hand.

- A) If clients have bottle drawing
Send the bottle drawing to us and we make modifications to the bottleneck dimensions. And glass factory will change the mould according to our modified dimensions.
- B) If clients don’t have bottle drawing
Make the drawing depends on client’s stopper size and our existing mould sizes.
For example, we suggest to do shank diameter 20mm, cap diameter 31mm (we already have this mould)
So glass factory needs to make the inner bottleneck diameter 19mm&outer bottleneck diameter 31mm. So the worker in glass factory just needs to make the bottle according to this size.
Most important, do not give the stopper to glass factory. If you do, that may cause serious problems. Because most workers will make the inner bottleneck diameter 20mm, they don’t know stopper needs to be 1mm bigger than inner bottleneck diameter. (And the stopper material is elastic, different people will get different measurements. There is error)
Most bottles are used to contain liquid. In the filling process, the liquid will wet the bottleneck.
1) After we receive bottle stopper samples, we need to wet the bottleneck (or wet the stopper), then try to insert the bottle stopper to the bottle. You will feel it is a bit tight and is not too loose and will need certain strength to pull out the stopper from the inner bottleneck.
2) Then you fill the bottle with water and do not fill it too full. If you fill the bottle too full, the air pressure will be very high inside the bottle. The stopper will be easy to pop out.
3) Then you lay the bottle flat on a piece of white paper. Wait till the second day to see if there is any leaking. If not, then the stopper is suitable for this bottle.
